So I bought something off eBay, and the seller said he shipped the product to me. A week and a half later, the product still hasn't arrived so I asked for a shipping number.

Upon checking UPS site, this is what I see:

US | 04/13/2007 | 5:28 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

04/19/2007 | 12:01 A.M. |MERCHANDISE IS MISSING. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH ADDITIONAL DETAILS.;ALL MERCHANDISE MISSING, EMPTY CARTON WAS DISCARDED. UPS WILL NOTIFY THE SENDER WITH DETAILS OF THE DAMAGE

Today is the 25th, and they haven't notify the shipper yet.
 
UPS messed up a package. NO WAY!!! 😉

I would get things form them that looked like it was used as a baseball in the world series Barry "Roid" edition.

Clearly it was an empty box disguised as a 5lb box. And I love Seinfeld's references to Bizarro world.

LOL, if that was the case, I'd be holding an empty 5 lbs. labled box cussing the heaven right about now. I think they stole the contents, just a wild guess.
 
I avoid them as much as possible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt until my Dell 1800FP came with a corner of the box MISSING. Thankfully the monitor was okay, but I wasn't very happy to see the box half demolished.

Since we're bashing UPS...

We have a 4:30 and 5:30 pick up where I work, our 5:30 never came. After multiple calls to UPS I gave up (the said they'd page teh driver each time). I finally found a UPS store that was open around 6:30 that I could drop the packages off at. I'm still waiting for that 5:30 pick up...
 
All shipping companies suck, but for me, UPS usually sucks the least.
 
The UPS guy stole an Athlon processor from me. I was home when it was delivered on my porch (was supposed to be signed for, never got the chance to sign for it). I heard the UPS truck drive off so I went out to get my new cpu only to find a box wide open and nothing inside of it. I promptly called UPS and was told, tough sh!t. I had to call newegg and get them to jump UPS's ass since they don't give a fook about Joe Blow.
 
UPS is the worst, their tracking is so crappy, and not very accurate. They can even go back and change entries on it. Such crap. Had a 2 package take a week to arive before.

Because they're cheap?

Actually I've had good luck using them for none-fragile/valuable stuff & their large freight department has never caused me any problems either ... its only computer & electronics they seem to screw up on a regular basis.
