Thats not a solution. And I haven't seen anything close to that for years. If the game didn't support the athlon, it was a poorly coded game.

Probably more overclocked AMD cpus out there. Had my cpu overclocked and a buddy was playing Guild Wars when it crashed and loaded up a web browser. Possible causes it listed:

1) Overheating
2) Overclocked system
3) Inadequate PSU
4) Memory timing issues (or more generally bad memory)

Pretty spot on I'd say. I'm sure tech support gets annoyed when people are pissed off when it's there own fault. Sure my system seemed rock solid with other games. But for whatever reason, whether games these days are more demanding or not coded as well, it seems to bring out instabilities in systems moreso than things we were used to like Prime95.
