If he had a Dell when that movie was made it would've failed on him fast. He would've known IBM lappies are rock solid and probably the best to get at that time.

I'm sure everyone here knows how accurately "hackers" / "hacking" is portrayed by hollywood.

IE, they like to click big buttons that say 'HACK COMPUTER!"

qft

It wasn't that bad in Italian Job... at least it realistically took "the real Napster" the better part of a day to hack into the traffic control center.

Yeah, it's called product placement. Dell paid them money, they put Dell computers in the movie. Duh.

They can do that?

Are you serious?

Well..he didn't put in any emoticons. So he must be according to people around here.

IMO, The Island had a LOT of blatant product placement.

and IMO, the worst movie hacking and the worst movie hacking lingo-usage was in Swordfish

The reason he used the dell is cause if he ever got caught, all he'd had to do was punch the keyboard and the whole thing would burst into flame.

If his l33t hax skills didn't work he'd have to call dell support in India and not be able to fix the problem. 😀

No no no... nothing beats "The Island" for product placement.

Rebok
Aquafina
Chrysler
Budweiser

And that was just the first five minutes...

Actually, the part about Dell paying them money - not quite true. Dell manages a lot of product placements for free - director gets free props, and it beats making more on a limited film budget, so why not?

<-- Knows the product placement coordinator @ Dell

That isn't The Italian Job, that's in the REMAKE of The Italian Job.
Don't sully the name of one of the most classic films ever.
