Playoff tickets to go on sale Saturday
The Indians lead the wildcard race by 0.5 games, yes, a half a game. They trail the White Sox for the division by 3.5 games. Yet nowhere in this article does it even mention the possibility that the Indians may not even make the playoffs. They are by far the worst team talentwise in the mix, although they have been playing awesome baseball lately. They are just waiting for the other teams to "sort themselves out" but they are not even discussing that they may be the ones "sorted out". LOL.
BTW, the White Sox may choke worse than the Yankees did last year if that is even possible.
CLEVELAND -- Indians fans who are interested in watching the Tribe live at The Jake for the Division Series can begin buying tickets to those games Saturday morning, team officials announced Tuesday.
The Indians plan to make a special day of the sales event. They will use Gateway Plaza for "Showcase a Special Fun Day Event," which will run from 10 a.m. to noon during the ticket sale. The event will feature the band "Shout" and other entertainment for baseball fans who show up to buy tickets at the Jacobs Field Box Office.
But fans do not have to go to The Jake to buy tickets to the playoff series, which would be the first for Cleveland fans since 2001. Tickets are also available at www.indians.com, by phone at 1-866-48-TRIBE, in person at Cleveland Indians Team Shops, at Ticketmaster centers in the area and at select Giant Eagle and Kaufmann's stores.
As an alternative to the public sale, fans can guarantee postseason ticket priority by becoming a new season ticket holder for 2006 and putting down a deposit. To take advantage of this "Playoff Payoff," fans can call 216-420-HITS (4487) or visit www.indians.com.
The dates of the games are still to be determined. Until the Central Division race with the White Sox or the Wild Card race with the Yankees, Athletics, Angels and Red Sox sorts itself out, the Indians can't put dates on when games will be played at The Jake.
But prices for those games will range from $60 for field box seats to $16 for upper outfield reserved seats. Tickets in the bleachers are $22.
If the Indians stay alive for the AL Championship Series and the World Series, the organization will announce ticket plans for those games at a later date.
