I got one this morning, too. @msn.com for the reply-to.

Dear Citibank Account Holder,

On January 10th 2004 Citibank had to block some accounts in our system connected with money laundering, credit card fraud, terrorism and check fraud activity. The information in regards to those accounts has been passed to our correspondent banks, local, federal and international authorities.

Due to our extensive database operations some accounts may have been changed. We are asking our customers to check their checking and savings accounts if they are active or if their current balance is correct.

Citibank notifies all it's customers in cases of high fraud or criminal activity and asks you to check your account's balances. If you suspect or have found any fraud activity on your account please let us know by logging in at the link below.

I would bet they probably got a few replies before they get shutdown. Too many gullible, stupid people out there.

I don't think this is a scam.

It looks more like an effort to embarass citibank or someone at citibank, perhaps someone pissed at them for some reason.

All these scammers are stupid. They shouldn't mention anything about entering your card number and pin, because that'll raise red flags with most people. Instead they should mention a new promotion, or new website or something like that. Most people would click on that link to check it out. A portion of those people would notice login form and proceed to enter their info.

I've got a few of these myself. The typos are interesting--not your usual misspellings. It's almost as if someone or something went the extra step of misspelling stuff on purpose!

They go to all the trouble of making a website, domain redirects, mass mailing, but they cant hit the "check spelling" button.
