LOL, T-Mobile won't be making any money at this Starbucks!

So I fired up my lappy at the Starbucks next to the library, knowing full well that I'd be paying $9.95 for a few hours of wifi access. Still, it beat checking email thru the web on the library's slow-ass computers.

Lo and behold, the store next door has unsecured, free wifi going on! Both showed up in 'available networks'! Weird thing is, next door is a sandwich shop, and they don't advertise any kind of Internet access!! A little investigation revealed they have IP-based point-of-sale systems with wireless connections! I guess theoretically I could hack into their sales data or something, or maybe 'net send' a nasty message to the girl working the counter! Ain't technology grand??

how does starbucks limit access to their network? Do you have to get some sort of software from them first?

DNS won't let you get past the T-Mobile sign-up page until you've logged in with username, password and billing info.

Starbuck's WIFI Network is pretty strong.

I used a program to listen to users currently on the network.....Spoof all the info and still was unable to get pass.

Somebody probably saw a thread they thought was spam and was harassing the poster of said thread. But the thread wasn't spam and they were being an ass for no reason. Hence the Mod quote saying to play nice.
