I was reading a review on THG.

I couldn't help but notice a Seagate drive in this product! How much sense does that make?! :Q

You would think they would put a Maxtor drive in there!

Are Maxtor drives still that bad?

Cheers!

Maxtor bought Quantum's harddrive division. What's left of Quantum, mostly their NAS and tape drive divisions, don't have anything to do with Maxtor. They are going to use whatever drive best fits their needs.

Yes but I find it ironic nevertheless.

As far as Maxtor being the best, I don't think so. Their (current) SCSI drives are ok, but they are really just Quantum disks.

You can't beat Seagate on either turf.

Cheers!

At my last job, all the IBM Thinkpads had Toshiba hard drives and all the Toshiba Porteges had IBM hard drives. The divisions just decided and outside product was more cost effective.
