Its a wild turtle, put it in the pond. The longer you wait, the harder it'll be.

Of course there is plan B.

Drill a hole in the edge of it's shell & tie one of the cats to it.

Dad did that (drill holes in the back of it's shell on the edge), I tied fishing line to my turtle & let it swim in the lake when we went camping, fishing. Yeah, I know it's a little wierd, but I didn't have a dog.

I always wondered, can you take the shell off a turtle? Whats under the shell? Are his organs free-floating in between the walls of his shell?
You can't remove the shell, everything is attached to it. IIRC there are also nerve endings in the shell, too.

I call shenanigans, I found snaps & a zipper.

It's better for the turtle to be returned into the wild, just say that the turtle are being missed by its family 😉 .

Too late, I've already removed his carapace, I don't think his family will accept him anymore😱

man, you were deprived as a kid huh...😛

I have two turtles. That is not a red-eared slider. It is definitely a land turtle. Being so big and old and wild it will probably be difficult to get him to eat and I doubt he will ever get used to being handled. Dump it outside and go buy a little water turtle or box turtle at a flea market if they really want one.

Best answer yet. True, too.

The Red Eared Sliders from the pet store are raised in captivity and will make a far better pet than this grisled old tortise. Besides, this big mutha could lop your finger off if he wanted to. :Q
