So my coworker got one of those e-mails from "Citibank" saying they lost her information and need her account number and PIN. Nevemind that it's ridiculous that a bank would have lost her account number but NOT her e-mail address. Nevermind that banks NEVER ask for your PIN number. Nevermind that phishing has been all over the news as of late, warning people to not give your account number or PIN to anyone. She still did it.

Next day: Bank account balance = $0.00.

LOL. Idiot.

Citi did end up putting the money she lost back into her account. Good company. Moronic client.

No kidding. Citi is one helluva good company. I've been doing business with them for almost 10 years now (my parents even longer). I don't think most companies would do that for a client (when they weren't even involved).

Citi has consumer fraud protection to protect their clients, but it is most definitely NOT an obligation. They do so in order to keep their customers satisfied. There isn't any law (that I know of) that requires a company to reimburse their clients simply because their client did something stupid.
