Microsoft products are clunky, painfully designed, and a terrible user experience from start to finish in comparison to mac software

Actually OSX is designed for people too dumb to figure out windows XP, which is another reason we have so many tech jobs being out-sourced to India.

As for OSX being inferiour to Windows, I'll offer you the same challenge I give the other Mac users:

- Google the top 10 24/7 Web Host/Application providers in your area, and show me *1* using either Apple hardware or OSX.

- Walk into any corporate server farm on the planet and show me the ratio of Windows boxes to OSX. Then note the education level and experience of those running those servers compared to the junior_college_graphics_arts flunkie raving about Apple in the media dept.

- The 10,000+ users I support don't have a problem With windows, so maybe it's just you.

- Compare the ratio of profit Microsoft makes selling actual business software -vs- hardware -vs- Apple selling iPods. Essentially, if it weren't for the iPod, Apple stock would be on the junk bond list.

Having a huge market doesn't make it better to use. To say OSX isn't a great OS is crazy, and makes you sound like a fanboy.

Markets rarely lie. If Apple and their Mac was the superior product for the price, Microsoft would never have become the monopoly they are today.

Markets tend to cater to the lowest/dumbest common denominator. :p

I have four computers, including two laptops. They all run either a different version of, or a different OS.

I run Windows 2000, Windows XP home, Windows XP Pro, and Tiger 10.4.8

For the desktop environment I prefer Windows. On a laptop I prefer Mac(I have a Thinkpad T-42 and an IBook G4).

When it comes to overall Stability, I find Windows 2000 the most stable, then OSX close behind. Both XP machines are waning.

On two separate occasions the past 6 Months, two separate critical XP/Office patches caused me huge headaches. I find Windows XP flaky all around. If I see any more "svchost: Memory could not be read" errors I will scream. Microsoft's quality control is dismal.

What upset me most about these Mac commercials is that they tainted Justin Long's reputation. He's had some spectacular performances thus far in his career.........being an ass puppet for a marketing-driven corporation not included.

Yuppers. I'm not a linux guy at all, but I know people have been dual booting Windows and Linux for years. I actually believe Linux is much more of a threat to Windows than Apple will ever be. But Linux has a fairly far way to go before the general public embraces it. MS just has too much of a hold. But we do in fact have Apple and especially Linux to thank for forcing MS is improve their OS. They have come a long way since Win95, especially in regards to stability.

That last comment was an idiotic statement. Apple is gaining market share in home computer sales, as well as laptop sales.

no, the rumors were all wrong. he had made a statement about the same time this stuff came out that he was still going to record a few more for the holidays. now, this may be it.. but it really doesn't matter... I hated these commercials. I love my iMac, but 90% of what was in those commercials were just too much BS.

Forgive me y'all but I cannot let this slide.

Actually OSX is designed for people too dumb to figure out windows XP, which is another reason we have so many tech jobs being out-sourced to India.

Wait, so everyone is stupid? If you get out-sourced tomorrow is it because you're stupid?

It's general knowledge that the men at the top are always looking to save money and outsourcing has become the latest fad amongst cost cutters and ceos.

- Google the top 10 24/7 Web Host/Application providers in your area, and show me *1* using either Apple hardware or OSX.

Osx for hosting? WINDOWS for hosting?

Lemmie check...wait, my quality VPS is on Linux...my shared hosting account, my clients...
Dude, you can make that argument and be correct, that OSX is really used for hosting, but don't you DARE praise windows in that regard. If you do, there are 1000s of people that will bring up that os that starts with "L-" and put you in your place. See, I can through numbers around too.

Fact its prevalence in the hosting market has NOTHING to do with Desktop use.

- Walk into any corporate server farm on the planet and show me the ratio of Windows boxes to OSX. Then note the education level and experience of those running those servers compared to the junior_college_graphics_arts flunkie raving about Apple in the media dept.

um....dude. How can I put this lightly. Um...it takes qutie a bit of knowledge to be a unix admin period. A GOOD unix admin really has no choice but to UNDERSTAND THE THEORY behind his work or he'll have no IDEA wtf he is doing at the prompt.

- The 10,000+ users I support don't have a problem With windows, so maybe it's just you.

Excuse me but did they have a choice? Besides proprietary application support, have you ever been in charge of a non-windows network?

I'm glad that they kept John Hodgman as the PC guy. I just wished that there was a blooper reel out there somewhere where he gave Mac boy a dope slap.
