Most new games have this warning. I'll just pull a random one off the shelf. Darksiders for PS3. Vary first page of the manual.
-Avoid prolonged use of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Take a 15 minute break during each hour of play.
Most recent PSP games also flash that warning each time you boot them up too. I can't speak for what the 360 has though. PC games don't seem to include it.

Yeah but those are just legal warnings they place there because they don't want to be sued. I'm tlaking about an in game character that talks to you and says "you ave been playng for a while now maybe it would be good to take a break" (paraphrasing). Nintendo is one of the few companies not afraid to market to the casual gamer and has enough confidence in their own franchises that they actually put such messages in game. It's kind of nice to see.

I remember Guild Wars on the PC would recommend you take a break every few hours.

Anyone remember the Nickelodeon commercials suggesting that you turn off your tv and go outside to play?

I remember MGS2 did this too. Actually there were a number of non-nintendo games that had in game warnings... so they're by far not the first.

I know there are several pc games that have been doing it for a while as well, though I can't remember them off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure one of the loading screen messages in BG1/BG2 are reminders to take a break and get some fresh air or something like that.

EDIT: Isn't one of the loading screen messages in Fable1/2 also something like that? Not sure but I think so.

It'd be nice if Civ did that in their games. Everyone knows how fast time flies when you play CivCrack.

IIRC Civ has an option for a clock in the upper corner and/or an alarm system you can set too. I think that was Civ... or was it something else?

Yea, it does... still requires YOU to set it up. :D:D

I need a system that slaps you when you're playing at 3 AM and tells you to go to bed. A woman might work... :hmm:
