LOL... just saw a cop playing solitaire in his squad car.

I was sitting on the fire escape having a cig, playing poker on my cell phone.
Cop pulls up to the stop light next to my building and he's playing solitaire on the
squad car computer screen. Had to laugh.

I'd be surprised if squad cars have games installed with the standard ghost. And I hardly believe that there's a removable media drive attached to the system. I smell a rat.

I've imaged many a squad car PC. Solitaire isn't on any one of them, and they are locked down with group policies. No effing around with my installs. :|

I swear he was plaing solitaire.

Maybe it wasn't on the car's computer screen but a laptop next to him.

All I could see was the screen cause I was up on the fire escape and it's night time.

I definitely saw the standard Solitare pattern however

One of my friend's has a cousin that's a detective here but he ends up sitting around camping areas where people speed and giving tickets. I guess he's usually got the night shift and I saw him playing some kind of game on his laptop in a grocery store parking lot when I had to make a midnight food run one time 🙂

Maybe the admin for those systems sucks, but I bet its against the IT policy of the agency that he works for to be doing that. Like I said, it _cannot_ happen with one of my images. 😀

St. Paul cop jailed in investigation of shooting incidents

Herón Márquez Estrada, Star Tribune
May 12, 2004

A veteran St. Paul police officer was arrested Monday evening for allegedly using his service weapon to shoot up a home in Maplewood last month and a Hmong business mall in November, the St. Paul Police Department reported today.

The Maplewood incident involved the home of a Xang Vang, the translator for Gen Vang Pao, the national Hmong leader, who lives in California but visits the Twin Cities frequently.

The shootings are part of a wave of violence that has hit the Hmong community and businesses associated with the general in recent months.

Officer Tou Cha, 35 and an 11-year veteran, had his service weapon seized and was booked into the Ramsey County jail on Monday. A quick analysis matched the bullet casings from his gun with the shell casings found at the two crime scenes, said Officer Paul Schnell, the department spokesman.

Tou ChaInvestigators have not determined a motive for the shootings. Nor has a connection been made between the shootings and a series of arson fires and attempted firebombings at various Hmong homes and businesses.

No one was injured in either shooting, although five people were home at the time of the Maplewood shooting. The first shooting happened on Nov. 29 when windows at numerous Hmong businesses were shot out at the Minnehaha Mall in the 700 block of N. Milton St. The second shooting happened on April 20 at Xang Vang's home.

Cha was part of St. Paul delegation in ThailandJoey McleisterStar TribuneSchnell said Police Chief William Finney and commander John Harrington, who will succeed Finney this summer, met Monday night and relieved Cha of duty until the investigation is done.

"We train and entrust our police officers to courageously and vigorously intervene in situations that endanger the community," Finney said in a prepared statement.

"It is a sad occasion when a department arrests one of its own for breaking the very laws he promised to uphold. The reputation of and trust in the St. Paul police department will not be tarnished by the illegal acts of any personnel."

its probably legit. the laptops in my town have win98 installed but by default the boot into dos and run some software package that i can't rememver the name of. i don't remember which but one of the F keys will make a menu pop up on boot with the option to start windows normally.

What's wrong with him playing Solitaire? He's human just like the rest of us.
I'm a Manager and I play Solitaire at work when I get bored.

Yeah, and I know some people that install the electronic systems in squad card too. For a few extra bucks, you can have anything you want.

There's something to be said about being a cop and paying attention while on duty.

Even if Solitaire is not on the main computers... couldn't he have been using a USB keychain with Solitaire on it?

IF the systems had USB ports and the OS wasn't locked down properly, sure.
