So basically you were a jerk and didn't offer to let him work in on the machine?

Yeah, you're REAL cool.

Learn some gym etiquette.

I was doing 7 plates on each side... he was doing 3. Would you want to take off and put back on 8 plates between sets? Also, we have 4 leg press machines, it's a big gym.

The FIRST thing out of my mouth when someone asks how many sets I have left is, "would you like to work in?"

Why? Because good gym etiquette goes both ways. It is how I would like to be treated if I asked the same question.

And in the case of differing weights, you share the burden of changing the weights. He takes one side, you take the other.

True, and I always do on any other machine, honestly. The leg press is special though.

You could have been nice and made some connections with that guy. Ex-congressman, Foxnews host, and an investment banker MD level at Lehman Brothers could bring a lot of important connections...

I don't think I could even stomach two minutes....
Does she intimidate you because she's a woman?

She intimidates me because she's Satan.

I think the fact that you had to find out he was "famous" from another person, say's a lot about him. Most people in his position would have tried to throw his weight around.
To me, he was just a polite guy at the gym that you were a little rude to. :)
