Sorry, I don't understand why you're so pissed at him. You allowed the treatment to go on for as long as you did. Why didn't you quit the first sign he was treating you like a "slave"?

Now, you no longer work for him, you no longer have to deal with his style, so why the urge to kill him? Just don't get the mentality that someone else controls your life.

Employment is a two way relationship. The employee agrees to work and the employer pays the employee. Anytime one side is dissatisfied with the arraignment the employment can and should end.

You were free to walk out at any time. I don't know what motivated you to accept less than minimum wage, but you obviously wanted the money and kept showing up to work.

Whatever motivated you to humiliated your "fat angry Asian" boss until he fired you should have motivated you to find a better job instead. Then you wouldn't be unemployed, board and complaining about it on ATOT to a bunch of so called nerds.

Judging by 2/3 of these replies, I can't help but wonder if you people have ever interacted with another human before.

Judging by most of the remainder, it looks like nobody here remembers what it's like to have to settle for a shit job because that's all that's available. People on the bottom don't have a lot of choice in who they work for, especially when they're a student and can only accept part time or seasonal work.

rule #1 of employment: never burn bridges.

i just gave a 2 week notice and am switching to another company. my current employer asked me what reasons i had for leaving - and i didnt tell them the primary ones. i sugar-coated it, made it sound like i am mainly just looking for more experience (which is a minor factor), yada yada. i left out the part about how this position will pay me more money and is a better fit for what i want to do, and i am leaving because my current company wouldn't let me switch to the type of position i really wanted.

i left all this out because the new place might eventually suck even more, and i may want to go back to the current place. they said i am welcome back if i ever do want to return.

keep them bridges wide open.

While I generally agree with this, there are times when you simply have to introduce a "scorched earth" policy. At that point, it's not about leaving a job, it's vengeance, it's retribution for every nasty thing your boss ever did to you. It can be the most liberating experience of your life.
I did it once many years back, to an employer that deserved it and a whole lot more. To this very day I clearly remember having him backed against the wall and screaming obscenities in his face from an inch away, and wondering how long I'd spend in jail if I put him down. Restraint won out, I didn't punch him. The most bazaar part of the entire episode was that I didn't get fired for it, and in fact he stopped being a dick and became a real human that was pleasant to work for.

is there much of a diff between 3.70/hr and $5/hr?
would u have stayed at $5/hr?
Not really. I still would of left if it was 10pounds per hour. He treated me like a slave. For example he asked me to go and buy him a meal from McDonald (Couple of times now) and once he said 'What took you so long' that point I got very very very angry and really upset me.

I worked at his shop for 2 weeks. I needed the money to buy new books for my course. The books are very EXPENSIVE. The cheapest cost around 20-30pounds. I couldn't afford it so I had no choice to accept the job regardless of the pay. I want to kill him because he treated me like a fucking scum. I'm still angry as I type.

Please ignore my grammar i write once and never check or correct mistakes im typing this on my ipad and its a pain in the butt to correct stuff

£5 is nearly 33% more than what she was previously being paid. That's a huge difference.

Well, at least your boyfriend still got the winnings from football betting to hold you over for a while, right?

I got sacked today lol. I fucking hate my boss I told him to go fuck himself etc. My boss is a fat angry Asian who thinks he is the best. I just hate him, so I humiliated him. As a result I got sacked. He used me for everything. I think he took advantage of me because I'm female. I was on 3.70 per hour from 8AM-6PM. I am 20 years old so I should be getting well over 5pounds. It was a shitty summer job till Uni start but woow I hate him so fucking much, fat grumpy fat face I want to kill him. I am so angry right now I was used like a slave and treated like shit. Just wanted to share this with you. Don't be scared of your boss, tell them the truth. Be brave. :)

Typed in rage.
Sorry for the bad language used in this thread and sorry to the grammar nazis I write once and never check or correct mistakes because I'm on my iPad and its a pain in the butt to correct grammar.

Your mentality and language in your post makes me think there is more to this story than you're saying and that maybe you somewhat deserved to be fired.

Dont understand this grammer. Your boss "sacked" you? What did he do with his sack to you? In USA we call that tea-bagging. Not sure what there is to be angry about. The last female that I tea-bagged was happy about it. <shrugs>

Hmm. If you are old enough to be a NetWare Head, I don't understand how you aren't old enough to know the term "sacked" is British slang for "fired" or "separated employment".
(side note. congrats, you even capitalized the 'N' and the 'W')

I suppose the other possibility is that you thought also don't understand humor or misogyny.

In other news, I typed this on my iPad. The quotes, period, and comma soft buttons all seemed to work without issue. (Written Oxford style to cater to OP)

So the OP wants to kill her ex boss and that's alllowed here. Hmm...such a double standard this board has. I guess as long as he isn't in a police uniform thats okay.
