Do this, i dare you. go to <yourcity>.craigslist.com and shove in 2008 Honda Civic, title only, and see what comes back. Basically I see a ton coming back at mid high 15's. This is the exact reason I didn't buy a used car recently despite touting the benefit for all of my adult live. The prices are asinine on used cars. They've always been stupid on Civics, but people are basically asking prices $2-3k less than a new one can be bought for. If you're paying $15,500 for a used compact car with 40k miles and something breaks on the way home you deserve it, shame on you!

This is also a great example of why leasing is usually a terrible idea. They screw you either way anyway, if a car has good resale it's because it's popular and it will still carry a steep rate. If a car has crap resale, they cover their asses by charging exhorbitant leasing rates.

The smart person is the guy who bought that thing brand new for a well-negotiated price and can now sell it for most of what he paid for it. The stupid person is the one who buys it.

Yeah, terrible deal.

Yeah used civics are retarded money. Either buy one new or you can buy a much better car for your money.

Um you can also write it off if you buy it instead of lease it.
My best friend's dad runs a business and his van is technically a company vehicle. The entire cost was a tax write off.

When my gf sold her Corolla, she only lost $500. It was a year and a half when she got rid of it.
