My grandfather still uses a VHS rewinder. I'd buy him a DVD player, but I think it's better that he stays with the tech he's familiar with.

Ive seen this before but... wasnt it much cheaper? 10 or 15 bucks? even as a joke, 22 bucks is to much. also on top of that, I was looking at $6.50 for plain old USPS shipping.

This has no place on this board, not hot at all.

I remember vhs rewinders were made to save the motor on the vhs players...I always thought DVD players were the same so I tried not to « search, but now, no worries ^_^
 
$22? You are paying too much. I got a crap load of these in my closet. I sell them on ebay for $5 + $30 UPS Ground.
 
At first, I had the same thinking, but the description said it would play sound backward. So I don't think it's design to "rewind" dvd like an vhs rewinder. Am I wrong?
 
My dad constantly jokes with me to "rewind" DVDs when they're done, too, so this would actually be pretty funny.
 
Three or four years ago a friend of mine, who worked at Radio Shack, was geting semi-regular calls for these.
For anyone who isn't aware, The Shack is to stupid what ...

A) Flies are to steaming poop
B) Pedophiles are to playgrounds
C) Weapons of Mass Destruction are to Iraq
D) All of the above
E) "A" and "B"

The answer is "E" (unless you watch FOX News)

He told me about a specific call where he tried , nicely, to explain that the customer wouldn't need one. The customer became irate about being told " what he did or didn't need". my friend took a stab at explaining WHY. I think this guy was dead set against letting his new DVD ( they were still expensive at this point) get "burned out" rewinding all the movies he'd just bought. "NO"you couldn't flip it upside-down and "rewind" it in your Discman.<--Do you follow the bent logic...?
When my friend can't "just him the price" this guy is thinking that The Shack MUST have them but my friend is just refusing to sell it to him. He ends with " screw you, you condescending prick, I'll buy it somewhere else".
The happy ending is that this guy actually DID go arround to a bunch of other stores trying to find one. He eventualy figures it out and came into my friends store to apologize in person.
