That would be worth checking out and would make sense of the number changing from 3 to 3.25 to 3.5 depending on how much video RAM you have

and mugs I do have only a gig right now. I changed it since that pic to 1533 rather than 3072 (not quite sure why I had it so high) And I too have heard it is a bad idea to get rid of the paging file all together.
 
The hardware will typically reserve memory for its own use.

Shared video memory is one example. I think certain PCI controllers use some of this memory as well.
 
My system has been running rock solid without a page file for a couple of years now...

at any given time, I could be running any or all of the following programs:

IE
firefox
ati hdtv program
nero
media player
UT2004
photoshop
remote desktop

see my rig for the specs, the only things I've upgrades are: memory to 1.5GB, burner to 8X dual layer dvd burner, and tv card to hdtv wonder. The rest are exactly the same.

so I say 😛 to pagefile :laugh:
