Well, I was wondering why my power supply on the compaq was so damn hot and I didn't feel any air.

Look back there and what do I find? Fan aint spinning.

It hasn't been spinning for 5 days, and this is my p200 server (hehehe, works good for serving up stuff)

well anyways, hopefully nothing was damaged too bad.

Umm....disassemble the power supply? I'd say you'd be better off just getting a new one. They're usually industry standard. Just take it out and take a $35 hit. I had the same thing happen on my computer...the video started flaking out and that's when I knew I had heat probs. There was some major heat damage in the ps.

man, I'm still trying to understand the dynamics of this forum. At one time you're getting b¡tched at for not adhering to the "computer hardware discussion forums" clause, and other times you're being bombarded by a bunch of technowussies telling you to get a new PSU instead of replacing the fan which takes all of about 2 minutes extra over replacing the whole unit...

sheesh

/edit - needed an 's', now back off :)

It's called joking around, not too hard to understand...
