I guess that stupid freakin' window couldn't figure out that I have cable that is always at T1 or better download speeds. 🙂

It is correct in my case. However, I still will refrain from being persuaded into it's evil ..... *lack of words*.

These banners actually work on people, I'd tend to believe. If you consider what the average web user is like...

The funny thing is, the loading of that pop-up window would probably lag the connection for a few seconds, further enticing the user to believe it.
