I got my 8800GT from Best Buy 3 years ago cheaper than newegg. Newegg and most online retailer were charging $300+ while BB had it for the MSRP of $250, and I was able to use their 10% off coupon.

I know it is an extreme case, but you can find stuff cheaper in retail.
