what's woot.com?

Welcome to the Internet. We have a wide selection of news, games, discussion, porn, and many other subjects you will find of interest!

Woot.com has been around several years, has been featured on most major media outlets, and has become part of pop culture. The site has a single overstock or refurb item that it sells per day- usually at a ridiculously low price.

Other sites you may be interested in are:

Ebay.com- online auctions!
MSNBC.com- lots of fairly unbiased news, heavy on science reporting
purple.com- shows the color purple

My Little Letdown
Daddy: I know you?re upset, honey, but I?m sure you?ll learn to love your new Black & Decker Pocket Power units just as much as you loved Meadow.

Lily Eve: But I don?t want some stupid battery thing! I want my pony back!

Daddy: Well, now you have two Pocket Power Battery Packs, and you only had one pony before. Isn?t that better? Isn?t two better than one?

Lily Eve: No! I?d rather have one Meadow than eighty zillion battery packs!

Daddy: Now, Lily Eve, we all miss Meadow. But her food and stable fees were very expensive, and ever since Daddy?s condo development went into foreclosure, we just haven?t been able to give Meadow the kind of life she deserves. The condo market really sucks right now, sweetheart. Don?t you want Meadow to have the best of everything?

Lily Eve: No! I don?t care! She?s mine! Mine!

Daddy: Sweetie, Meadow was a great pony. But she couldn?t power and charge USB devices on the go, now could she? That one time she tried, we had to call the vet, remember?

Lily Eve: I don?t care! I want my pony! Meadow never lied to me, or tried to throw me off, or emitted a modified sine wave that caused interference with some stereo systems! And she was never an explosion or shock or fire hazard like that stupid Pocket Power thing!

Daddy: (sigh) Lily Eve?listen, you know those nice men we sold Meadow to? Remember? With the truck?

Lily Eve: Yes! I hate them! They?re stupid!

Daddy: Well, along with horses, they also buy and sell little girls. Do I have to call them to come over again? Or are you going to be happy with your Black & Decker CP120B 20 Watt Power Backup Battery Pack?

Battered

How do we love thee, Black & Decker CP120B 20 Watt Power Backup Battery Pack? Let us count the ways:

P is for portable power, to run and recharge your mobile devices anywhere!

I is for the insightful instruction manual, which advises the user to ?Watch what you are doing? and ?Use common sense?. Thanks, guys!

E is for explosion hazard! Some of this unit?s components tend to produce arcs or sparks!

C is for combustion hazard! Storing the Pocket Power pack at temperatures over 170F for over two hours may cause fire!

E is for electrical shock hazard! Disassemble this unit at your own risk!

O is for overload protection, which isn?t all that funny, come to think of it!

F is for free drawstring carrying bag, because you don?t want to be like those other losers carrying their battery packs right out in the open!

S is for sine wave, which this unit produces but does not properly filter, possibly causing buzzing sounds through nearby stereo systems!

H is for hype like ?up to 5 hours of usage?, which is meaningless since they don?t specify which devices can run that long!

I is for iPhone, which (near as we can tell) you can?t charge with the USB jacks on this! The AC jack should still work, though!

T is for trademark! After Black & Decker spent decades making their name synonymous with high-quality power tools, now they?ll apparently slap it on any old piece of junk!
