Saw this one:

It's from 2007.
I decided to randomly see who in that thread is still here.

Yowolabi:
This person joined 2001 and stopped posting in 2010 but his last login was 2021?!

After all this time lurking, why stop lurking 2yrs ago?

I find that fairly recent similar threads feature here annoying. Usually they are quite unrelated and often really legacy to boot. They annoy me because, now, if I want to make a post without quoting an existing post I hit PgDn and have to scroll up past all the similar threads links to get to where I make my post = several extra clicks.

And when viewing THIS thread, I see:

MilkyWay@H - Benchmark thread Winter 2016 on (updated 1-2021) - GPU & CPU times wanted for new WUs

How is that in any way similar to this one?

It was also created on a day that ends in y.

Me think it was added there hoping to increase SEO

Somehow the 2014 ATOT tax thread is now listed as a similar thread to this one.

The alan turing and everything is old school seems to come up often, always makes me laugh at how random that thread is.

It really seems random though, I kinda wonder what the algorthm is like, it must just look at basic keywords or something.
