While I will grant you that Mary being the secret wife of Jesus is a bit "out there", the claim that the Church has demonized Mary is not. The Church has a rich and longstanding tradition of demonizing anything that doesn't fit neatly into their "religion". Sometimes even running contrary to the more obscure parts of their texts.
