OMFG 278million people have downloaded regular kazaa in total

goddamn, that's a lotta spyware

What makes you think riaa can sue everyone of those people

what does spyware have to do with the riaa? and they won't, they can't, these lawsuits are scare tactics.

No actually they are not. The are following the letter of the law, they are on the edge, and really are taking things to far, but everything they have done regarding people on Kazaa has been legal and legit. This really isnt a scare tactic, they can take this to court and easily win, but they wont win anywhere near $150,000 per song.

I haven't read much on this but are they going after people that are dl'ing stuff or who are sharing alot of stuff? or both?

Judging by the articles about some of the people the RIAA is suing, both. They're suing a 12yo girl for downloading... :|

Well more than likely they are suing her for sharing. She more than likely was sharing the songs she downloaded. Same goes for everyone else. These people getting sued arent really computer savy, so they are likely downloading and then sharing songs. The RIAA isnt going after downloaders, who dont share or people sharing 1 or 2 songs. They are going after people sharing lots of songs.

They can only sue those in the United States, and those that they sue, they do have the legal right to sue. Are they going overboard? Yes, but it is their legal right to protect their IP.

so we're safe if we use kazaalite???

You're safe if you don't contribute to the piracy of copyrighted materials 😕

What's so hard to understand, here?

how effective is kazaalite really in blocking the RIAA? How safe is the new version? I think a lot of people may be getting a false sense of confidence. The RIAA subpoena list included several kazaalite usernames. Of course, they could have been using old versions that didnt have RIAA-blocking features...

the new kazaa lite + peerguardian = very effective i have blocked riaa and mpaa ip addresses without even being on kazaa

Does anyone have any idea how they arrived at this figure?
