Any idea how to get rid of the microsoft logon screen on start up. My buddy has a cable modem and even if we hit cancel the logon screen is there every time. Thank you.

I am assuming Win 9X

[*]open the control panel
[*]network
[*]change "primary network logon" to windows logon
[*]ok
[*]it will prompt you to reboot

Correct me if I'm wrong but once using "windows logon" the logon screen says something like "If you don't want to see this prompt anymore enter nothing as the password." Try hitting just ENTER. Or, if you've already picked a password for that login name, either choose a new login or delete your MYNAME.pwl file in the windows dir.

Once you rebooted you might have a box pop up with your Name in it, simply click OK and it should not return. If it does, go to find files or folders and search for *.PWL. Delete all the results and reboot the computer.

Any more ideas. I have deleted the PWL file twice and it keeps coming back from the dead. Any more people out there ?
