Where's all the graphic designers at, always seeing so many photochops, there's gotta be people that can do this with ease.

best to keep them under covers, otherwise people just rip off other's ideas

what kind of proportion do you want this logo to be? Square, rectangle (8 * 5)?

lol...just because one can use photoshop to chop up some pics doesn't make them a graphic designer...

besides, the logo will be created in freehand or illustrator...

Agreed, don't take a raster logo file. With being in the sign business, you don't realize how many people will hand us shotty-ass raster files straight from a webpage or something they whipped together in Paint to make a large 5'x10' banner. If your dad wants to use this logo from here on out, you'd be best in only accepting vector files so you can use that sucker in any situation....business cards, large entry signage, letterheads, etc.

This is completely up to you, they can be put on letter heads and business cards either way. Size, big enough to be able to go on a door sign if needed but also that way it can be nicely shrunk for business cards and what not.
