How are these speakers???

Anyone know of any reviews or have any opinions about them or better ones in the same $60-$70 range???

newbiepcuser, your link's wrong. I looked and I didn't see anything at Bizrate for the 640's, so I went to Newegg.com and found some reviews.

I really like Logitech's sound. If I bought speakers right now, it'd be between the 640's and the 560's. However, I've still got the incredible Altec-Lansing ACS-495's from 4 or 5 years ago and they just won't quit.

BTW, I've built systems with both the 340's and the 540's and both people were very pleased with the sound they got.

I have the 640's and I love them. Great speakers, worth far more than what you pay for. And they even have a $20 MIR on these now, you cant go wrong.

I just bought Z-640 and installed about an hour ago (could've order them online, but bought locally since didn't wanna wait). I think they are pretty good, kinda what I expected - no miracle, but decent sound... I like their design over Creative 6600's (I didn't like the corded remote- looked flimsy), and also wouldn't have really the place for the rear/center satellite, already now I have it crowded), which were the same price ($99).... my soundcard doesn't support 6.1. so I went with this 5.1 setup and don't regret.

On the other hand, if I'd have money to burn, I'd get some of those Klipsch sets; was looking (not listening, but bet they deliver) at them in the store, neat stuff

Z-640 seems to have everything right, and feels sturdier then Creative and looks better as well; soundwise they seem to be about equal (from what I could compare in the store); the Creative sound may have been a bit more overall balanced, but that's subjective observation....

I also noticed Logitech has rebate for Z-640 right now, so I'll print it out and send as well.

i think the 640's would be a great buy even if they were $50 more expensive. considering that you can get them for under $70 at newegg, they are a phenomenal buy.

Hey Edipis Reks I see your Guinness link and a few months ago looked for a screen saver of Guinness foam sinking i think that would be pretty sweet screensaver. But then again maybe i have had to much to drink again.
