Are these the speakers to get if i want to spend 140-150? I was ready to get them but read some stuff about how they're not as great as they are made out to be...i dont know..help?

these babies rock, and dont put a dent in your wallet, i got em at 2buystore for 140 shipped.
although i have heard lots of moaning bout htem crappying out on people mine are rocking fine, with 3 months(and hopefully many more) of good use.

They're fine if you don't care much about sound quality. They do rock though. I can really shake the walls with mine, though that's not really what I bought them for.

If you want a gaming/movie watching speaker or you like to listen to music with exaggerated bass, i.e, RAP, these will work fine. If you like all other types of music, I'd look elsewhere because the bass is too boomy and exaggerated.

Do you think the price of speakers will go down in a month or two? I don't think I really need them until then, but if the price isn't going to change much, and there's not going to be anything that great..I guess I'll get them for 148.97 brand new.

get the logitech's, they're nice and they've been out for awhile now...
it probably won't go down that much in the coming months unless dell has a really nice deal again...
you'll won't regret buying these... they do rock and do get really loud if you want them to.

i got them at bestbuy, with a warranty, just in case i become one of the horror stories you heard about...

good luck

waht are u talking about? these sound AS good as klipicsh 4.1's
these speakers offer clean, crisp and very good quality sound, also ya the bass can be exagerrated at times.

The Z560's are great speakers just make sure you want 4.1 speakers. I personally am getting 5.1 speakers soon not sure which brand.

Is there a big difference between 4.1 and 5.1. Would 5.1 be a wiser choice in the long run or be a wiser choice if i'm going to spend the money?

Altec Lansing 641's have crisper high's and mids.

I agree listen again. They do not sound as good as the klips. I own them though and have no complaints. Wonderful speaker for the money.

I have heard great things about this speakers, you can't go wrong with this set of speakers. Why don't you look around I saw another thread where they talked about this speakers.

Do you plan to watch movies on your computer? If not, you don't need the 5.1 speakers. I listen to 2 speakers + the sub for music, 4 speakers plus the sub for games and 5 speakers plus the sub for movies.

The fifth speaker is the center channel and it's used primarily for movie dialog. It was designed because if you're not sitting perfectly in the center of your main speakers, the voices can sound like they are coming from the left or right and not out of where the images are on your monitor or tv. That can be annoying. There is no need for a center channel if you are sitting directly in front of the monitor in the middle with your front mains positioned evenly to either side and if the speakers image well.

BTW.. I think the Klipsch suck too. I think that they are worse than the Logitech simply because they cost more. I've never been a big fan of Klipsch's in-your-face sound, but they've always been well made and had tight bass. The Promedia's have neither.
