This is normal operation. A music file is only stereo sound. Anything that sends a signal to all the speakers will be something like a pro logic sort of thing.

You have it hooked up with digital, right?

If you hook it up with analog, you should be able to get a "clone mode" or 5 channel stereo or something to get output to all the speakers.

You should get sound from all the speakers when you watch a DVD because it is encoded for surround sound.

I thought you had it set up with a digital connection (either digital coax or optical)

If you have it set up through analog connections, 6 direct is probably what you want. I don't have these speakers, but it sounds to me like that would take the signals right from the soundcard.

If your soundcard is outputting the sound to all the outputs, 6 direct should play it on all your speakers.

If 6 direct isn't working, it's probably something on your soundcard setting you'll have to mess with.

Try keeping it in 6 channel direct and messing with your settings on your soundcard.

see my reply in your other thread... it's expected behavior. If you put it on 6ch direct, each input corresponds to a set of speakers in your system. Where there is no signal on a given input, those particular speakers do not play. Hence, your sound card is only sending a stereo signal and you only get stereo sound. When you put it on prologic, it creates a 5.1 signal out of a stereo signal, that's its job. If you have digital output on your soundcard (you should) get an optical digital or a coaxial digital and connect it to the speakers to get full blown 5.1 sound in DVD's.

PS: Probably best to keep it to one thread at a time. :)

The music you are playing is stereo, unless of course you are playing DVD-Audio. Since it is stereo it will only play out of front left and front right... "6 direct" means you are plugged into the 3 analog outputs on the soundcard which is good. Don't use optical out for your computer unless you like to be tortured.

If you want your mp3s and cds to play out of all speakers then enable CSS in your Audigy software. It will upmix your stereo signal into "6 channel direct" for you. Or you could use the PLII setting on your speakers.

Either way, DVDs and games should play out of ALL speakers.
