Logitech Z5500 (5.1 speakers) Review

In the end, the Z-5500 represents a tremendous value in speakers considering that you can find it at online retailers for under $300 dollars; a price range that the competition simply cannot match ? best bang for the buck anywhere? You?re lookin? at them here.

Why do most review sites only review klipsch and logitech speakers? What happened to Altec Lansing, Creative, Boston Acoustics, Swan, Cyber Acoustic, and Labtec?

There are so many reviews on these speakers, all +, but each has their own little quark. All of them are slight, but 1 said weak treble, another weak mids, another weak lows. They all would agree though that the bass is quite incredible, sometimes ending up being a bad thing (most don't though).

Only thing I'd like to add is that there is a noticeably subtle hiss when the volume is low and your <~2 ft away. One review said that was standard for this speaker class, but I'm not sure. As long as you keep em 3+ ft. and play at a relatively normal volume, I wouldn't worry about it, unless this sort of thing gets to you.

I'm getting a set for xmas along with an m-audio sonica for my powerbook. I'll post a review here when I break them in and watch a few DVDs and such. Mmmm... gonna kick some arse for the dorm... can't wait!
