Im not sure how hot of a deal this is, because this is the amazon price... but you can pick it up in store immediately which is a pretty big bonus for many like myself.

anyone else have experience with these? i am looking for GOOD powered speakers that cost less then $20, and from what i can tell these are the best value.

They're not bad, but don't expect them to be awesome.

Worth $15? Yes.

its the normal price right now... doesnt mean it wont change. i have been burned quite a few times, not buying something because i think it will stay at that price.

at some point, a new model comes out that is worse, and the old model becomes in even more demand and thus goes up in price, many times doubling from what i could have got it at when i wanted it originally.

ive been doing a lot of looking, and this model seems to have the most and best reviews of all the sub-$20 speakers. i was hoping someone here could chime in too, maybe compare it to others i might have had in the past.

I think I have a pair of these on the computer in my guest room, Im not sure really how good they are, I have maybe been on the computer a total of 3 times. I also picked them up at walmart, I think I paid closer to 30 dollars so, not a bad deal.

I will take a listen too them and report back, If I remember right, they were lacking in bass, but it was overshadowed by the lack of total volume.

volume is important too... basically, this is for a htpc. one for my grandparents, so it has to get louder then the tv its replacing.

thing is, the tv i replaced was total garbage in the sound department... you could barely understand any voices. so i think no matter what these will be better, but if they are lacking severely in some areas then ill look for better speakers.

logitech also has s150's for about $12 too... but i cant tell how much worse or better then they are from the z130's

to give people an idea of what im after- something that sounds as good as these budget speakers (minus the sub of course) http://www.amazon.com/Insignia-NS-PC...s=insignia+2.1

i got a set of those for $40 at best buy a year or so ago... honestly, im very impressed with their output. they sound great.

my speakers finally arrived, there ok, would give them a 5 out of 10. volume has to be up to 80% for any decent output.
