I just bought one today for my system. I'm not a gamer. I wanted a 5.1 system to use with my FreeBSD work system. I use the system to program and do various work, and I like to listen to Classical music (Orchestral) while I work. So I bought the system. I have not bought a 5.1 system before. It just happened that this time, I chose a sound-card (CMEDIA chip based) that supported 5.1. So I figured I'd get a 5.1 system.

I haven't opened it yet... what do you think of the system? If it's terrible or something by popular vote, I'll switch it out.

For the best music sound, I run my 2 desktop speakers at the same cause the midrange isn't real good.

For music 5.1's don't really do anything because they dont support it. But if it supports surround sound then its good. I have the 640's and its ok, nothing special, I woulda gone for higher quallity 2.1's at a similiar price

someone16 - I do realize that, I was planning for music to simply reroute the front stereo to the rear.

dito I got mine for 50 bucks or something. They are decent speakers but again for 50 they are real nice. Though next time I get speakers I will probably just get a nice set up 2.1's or something.
