I currently on the DTT 5.1 (older version of this) and am thinking of getting the Z-560.

Would it be an upgrade worth the $$? i dont know much about tech stuff here so i am having hard time deciding but Z-560 are so much more power full. But the absence of 5th speaker and worries about sound quality and other features (like Decoders etc) has held me back.

I am 75% gamer and 25% movies.

thanx for any help.

It depends on if you like loud boomy sound with your entertainment. The z560s are very nice speakers that put out alot of bass from the sub and have decent satellites as well. I don't think you would miss the 5th channel by going with the z560s since they are well rated and alot of people are buying them up.

In my opinion, DVDs should be enjoyed with nothing less than a 5.1 speaker system, so a center speaker is an absolute requirement for me. Since you say you're a 25% movie guy, it depends on how much emphasis you put on the sound of your movies. If, like me, sound is very important, I think you'll be missing a lot if you take out the center speaker.
