Logitech z-560 random pops

I have had a set of Logitech z-560 speakers for about 2 months now, and ever since I got them, they have been prone to let out short pops at several random times per day, whether or not any other sound is playing at the time. I have an audigy 2 card, but I don't think that is the problem as the speakers I had before didn't do it. The only thing I can think of is that I am using Monster XP speaker cable that is of a higher gauge than the wire it came with; I don't know if this could cause it or not, and I don't have the other wire here with me at school so I can't test it out. Has anyone else had similar problems or know of a solution?

thanks:

Does it do it if the speakers are not hooked up to the computer or anything else? Kind of sounds like an electrical problem to me.

What can also cause the poping issue are fluorescent lights. My Logitech Z-340s also put out a quick pop sound when fluorescent lights are turned on or off. Since you said you're at school (dorm?), its a good chance there are fluorescent lights near by in another room. Try it out - ask someone to turn on one of those lights while you are at your pc. If you hear the pop sound then most likely the light fixture is the cause. I don't know how you can solve the problem - time to check google.

i have the same problem with my logitechs. Also on a bootnote my nextel likes to my em pop too but it does that to any radio because of it's two way ability.

🙂

Know what makes mine pop? Every time the furnace turns on or off, it makes a quick "pop" sound. I only noticed this because I'm near a vent.
