Logitech Z-5500: no sound from center channel

Yes, set at "5.1 speakers" in sound settings

Center channel works for ProLogic streaming and digital sound (through analog and digtal respectively), but via analog, there is no sound through the center channel when in "6 Channel Direct" mode.

Also when I test the speakers via control pod, I hear the center channel in addition to front and rears. But when testing the channels through creative software, there is no center channel sound.

Help please, I want to hear the center channel sweetness through 6 channel direct!

It sounds like your speakers are working fine from what you said. If the control pod test works, it must be a problem with the signals coming from your computer or the connection from your computer to your speakers.

So you've set it to 5.1 in sound settings through windows and the sb live control center? If you switch the center/sub and left/right plugs in the back, to you get the "center" sound coming out one of the front speakers?

Yes, its set to 5.1 in windows and sb control center. And yes, when I switch the front and center/sub plugs, I hear the "front" sounds on my center channel, but no sound from my two front speakers.

I suppose "6 Channel Direct" is only supposed to work on front and rear channels only and not on the center channel? Because center works just fine when I switch to Dolby Pro Logic or digital 5.1

yeah I know. I plan to around mid-april. First I need to get the 2005fpw in addition to an entirely new system build
