Logitech Z-5500+Creative X-FI Bass Question.

OK I have an X-FI XtremeMusic with the Z-5500. I set it up to "direct 6 channel mode" in the Logitech unit.

So the issue is that when I am playing music with a lot of bass, the sound from satellite speakers sound a little distorted (I am not playing the music in full blast)...is this normal for my setup? Is there any setting that I can change to minimize the distortion?

I knew it would be you to respond to my question 🙂

Anyway, there's no Crossover option nor Bass Redirection in the Creative audio panel...This is ridiculous...

I didn't think that computer soundcards had that option. OP, try an equalizer or however you spell it (ususally the X-Fi options for equalizer would do it best).

I have used an X-Mystique previously and in the audio panel there was an option for bass redirection.

So I am better off with another equalizer?

Oh btw, if I were to get the Auzentech X-Plosion, will this work well for my Z-5500 via optical output or will I still be better off with analog ports?

Thanks.

If you want to do that wait for the X-purity to come out mid september. The analog output will be competitive with the X-fi's.

Until then, check out this:

Do what the second poster says. He is correct.

This afternoon I bought an X-Plosion and connected the two using the optical cable...What a difference it makes...bass is awesome, sound is very crisp...and guess what, the sound card works VERY WELL with my system now (knock on wood)...

The bass output is corrected now...
