Hi,

I'm going to buy one of these speakers systems. I already have a Logitech Z-680 system now and I think it's really amazing for the price, and I've heard the changes in the Z-5500 compared to the Z-680 is just what I want.

I came across the Z-5450 with the rear wireless saterlites, this will be very good to me not to have to run wires all over the room to the back, so i'm thinking of getting those and not the Z-5500.

But from what I read and heard the wireless signals for the rear speakers on the Z-5450 will interfear wireless phone signals and WiFi signals of my wireless network.

Anyone has any input about this? I preffer to go with the Z-5450 for convenience reasons, but if it will cause me problems with my wireless i'll get the Z-5500 and run wires...

Thanks

The quality of the 5450s might be a downgrade from the 680s. Several people prefer the satellites of the 560/680s to those of the 5500s as well.

Just an FYI - the 5450 rear speakers need to each be plugged into an outlet.

What changes are you looking forward to from the other sets?

I just came across a thread about this on the Logitech forums. Amazon has a REALLY good deal on the 5400s right now. ($187.89 OTD AR) However, from what I had read from different users the 5400s seem to have more problems than the 5500s. The are lots of complaints regarding the rear speakers suddenly quiting or failing to match the output of the front ones. Read the link and then browse through the forum as there are plenty of people posting about these two speakers.

I just thought the 5450's rear wireless saterlites would save lots of headacke with running wires.
I want to buy a new speaker system for my room and the Z-680 i'll put in another room... the Z-680 sound amazing for the price but the subwoofer is boomy and not very sharp.

A boomy sub is pretty common for the whole Logitech lineup. Klipsch Promedias would be a computer speaker system that helps out a lot in that department. Unfortunately you're looking at running speaker wire though for that set.
