Edit: Seems like everything at Overstock is "factory reconditioned"; so, may make this cold like grannie's pannies...

The Z-640's have not been available from JustDeals.com for several months (one can observe this if they try to add the item to their cart). Caveat emptor on JustDeals.com. A colleague of mine ordered the Z-540's they have available - it typically takes JustDeals several days to process the order prior to shipping. From order date to her door was 16 days. If her experience is indicative of the norm, nearly all the Logitech Speakers will arrive with the serial numbers "sharpie-d" through; in other words, removed. As stated on their site, they are factory recertified and will be packaged in a non-retail box, with a 30 day warranty. The set that she received did in fact include all the cables, and did not appear to show any signs of "wear and tear".

Believe Newegg offers the 640's at or around $60, including air saver shipping. Not certain of Overstock.com's shipping costs, however, and of course the 640's are a bit better than the 540's.

I cannot speak for everyone else, but in my experience thus far with Justdeals, believe I would much rather go with a more well known retailer/reseller for the few dollars extra it may cost initally.

I ordered two sets three weeks ago - they were out of stock for the longest time. Mine came in perfect condition, and within 6 days. As of Tuesday, there were still roughly 22 in stock. This is the third time I have ordered from them, and I have not had a problem yet. I do not like thier $12.95 shipping charge though:|

Shipping at justdeals is outrageous though, $13 for first thing + $4 for any additional, it's clear they are raking in on the shipping. And I only live a few miles away, but they won't offer local pickup.
 
i got them for $12 on ebay plus shipping (around $25ish shipped). try your luck on ebay first with them rather than buying directly from their site.

however with all that said id rather go with someone else. im not "really" happy with my purchase from justdeals. new is always better with speakers ... these refurbished ones altho okay ... sometimes a little glitchy (the subwoofer pops now and then).

Good speakers, I like them. I got my pair for home from Office Max when they had it advertised for $40.00. I also bought a pair for my office through justdeals, I have no complaints since shipping was fast and the speakers haven't had any problems.
 
I heard that these are very good speakers. When did they get so cheap? Or was I just out of the loop for awhile? Or is it just the reconditioned ones that are this cheap? Wonder what was originally wrong with them.

They've got 'em (540's) at my local OD store (St. Louis) , but they're still at $50 a set. Any further info on how OD determines clearance prices? Or maybe a link or something from their website? Thanks!

What each store puts on clearance is really up to them, although corporate may order a certain item clearanced due to planogram changes, they can still be put up - are you sure you aren't confusing these speakers with the Z-340s? They are $50 at OD.
 
I am pretty sure that the Z-540's are on a national clearance for $23, but I could be wrong.....🙂 Someone posted this from another state, and I went to my local store and they had them for the same $23.04 or whatever it was....🙂
