Tempting... How much of an injustice would I be doing by going for these over the z-5500's? But for 1/3rd the price it's hard not to...

I think the general idea is the Z-5500s (sitting on my desk right now) will blow that set away. However, the Z-5300e's should be perfect for one-room gaming, or entry-level home theatre sound. At that price, I'd definately take those over the X-530s or X-540s.

ya the 5300 is just uses analog connections, while the z5500 takes: analog, coax, and optical. You can have up to six devices plugged into the z-5500 and toggle between them.

If you want speakers that will only be used on your pc, these should do just fine. If you ever think you might want to hook up dvd players. consoles, etc you should go for the 5500s.

I must agree, i've had these speakers for awhile, i never get tired of how much bass they can push out, often, even the lowet bass setting is almost TOO much bass, lol. Thats not to say they lack midrange/highs, but that sub is especially impressive for the price.
