Happy with these speakers? They anygood? If not maybe recomend another set of 2.1s I can pick up at Staples or Circuit City? I couldent find a good review of these speakers.

Happy with these speakers?
Yes.

They anygood?
Yes.

I've yet to find something that is clearly better in all respects in this price range.

Yeah I was looking at the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system...but that is way too much $ for me to spend on speakers. I was gonna get the Logitech Z-560s but thats a little steep aswell and I really dont have room for 4.1s. The z-360s for $35 seems like a good price.....I would spend up to $100 but I dont know of anyother 2.1s.

the bass for my logitech z560's is really strong, but not quite as clear as my room mate's klipsche 4.1's. of course, his' are much more expensive than mine =P

Don't you mean Logitech Z-340?
I have the Z-560, but I recently bought a set of Z-340 for my brother for his birthday. Using the $15 off 50 coupon, they were only $35. I don't think you can do any better for $35.

CrowDog, for the $$ you won't find a better 2.1 setup than the Logitech Z-340's. If you can find a pair of the Boston Acoustics BA-790's give them a listen also. And, if $$ is a huge issue, you won't do better than the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's (in a 2.1 environment). I have all three speaker systems. The Z-340's went back in the box, to go off to college next fall w/ my older daughter. The BA-790's are on my younger daughter's machine, and are still some of the purest computer speakers I've heard. The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's are on my main machine, and they'll stay there <g>.

Some observations - musically, the Z-340's have a strong bass component, maybe too strong. My daughter's previous machine (just built her a new one) had a Philips Harmonic Edge sound card in it, w/ no bass/treble controls. I simply couldn't dial down the subwoofer control enough to get the boominess out of the bass. The BA-790's still are one of the flatest, most neutral sounding computer speaker setups I've heard. They simply sound good. In Winamp I found I had to boost the higher frequencies more than other systems. The Klipsch speakers are simply awesome. Maybe a bit bright for some people. I have the Winamp graphic equalizer set flatter than ever before. I have yet to find the top end of these speakers, volume wise, as they simply get too loud. You haven't experienced computer speakers (and I'm not comparing this to an audio setup run through a sound card, which is a whole different story) until you hear the THX theme wav on the PM 2.1's.

I have the Z-340's and have compared them to the Altec Lansing ACS 33, AVS 500 (4.1 but not that much more $), and the the creative PC-Works. I like the Z-340's the best, but my kids prefer the AVS-500's (4.1 but still pretty cheap $36 +$19 shipping from newegg.com). Don't think you could go wrong with either one.

PS Just noticed compgeeks has the previously mentioned Boston Accoustics BA 7500's for $42 plus shipping. Also a pretty good deal, from what I have heard.

Well, I'm pretty darn happy with my Altec Lansing 2100's. This setup uses microdrivers just like Apple's "Stick" speakers, and the subwoofer is dual 5.5" drivers in a wood box and it booms. About $100. Not as nice as the Klipsch or Altec Lansing 2.1's that run about $180, but those are overkill for me anyway.

Circuit City carries these but theyre overpriced. Check the web and $ave.

I've got a set of 340's. They aren't bad. They have reasonably strong bass, but the volume is limited. Nothing like my 560's. But for a 2 speaker setup at a low price nothing will beat em.

I have the Logitech 340's. For the price overall I have heard nothing better. As pointed out the Bass can be a bit strong but if you have a soundcard with Bass/Treble controls you can tone it down a bit. They are not real powerfull but for the price are plenty loud. The overall sound is the best I have heard under $50 and the Bass is very deep for anything that low in cost. I run the Subwoofer level all the way down or on some music the bass is way too heavy.

Again for the cost they are excellent.

You may also want to check out Altec Lansing ATP3's. I just bought a pair to replace
my old Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 and am extremely pleased.

Clear sound and less of a "thumpy" bass.
