Just thought a few of you might like to know I found a set of Logitech X620 6.1 surround speakers for $49...the catch being that it was at my local Sam's Club. I think this was regular price. The ironic thing here is that Logitech wants $99 for them on their website.

Yes, I realize these are not the Z series, but trust me, they don't need to be - they're more than powerful enough to shake the entire groud floor of my house and make my housemates complain at only about 40% of maximum volume...

Anyway, if you happen to have a Sam's Membership (and frankly, you should...you can't beat the prices on a lot of commonly bought stuff they have) and need some new speakers, go plunder. A great buy for those of us who like good sound but are on a budget

I picked these up at my local Sams Club ($49 - Milwaukee, WI). Yes, online prices are still higher, and then there's the cost of shipping to consider. You just can't beat under 50 bucks for 6.1 speakers.

I installed them last night. They're WELL BUILT, and sound great. Good long cables for the rear speakers, everything color coded for a trouble-free install. The satellite speakers can be desktop-mounted, OR, the base "swivels" around, and can be wall-mounted (wall-mount "screw socket" is built in to the base). With the logistics of my home office, the wall mounting is a requirement.

The subwoofer has a separate volume control, which I didn't have with an older Altec Lansing set I owned.
