Logitech Wireless Rumblepad... Grrr

Hello. I've had a Logitech Wireless Rumblepad for a few months now, and after some headaches with it losing recognition and everything, it was better for a while. Now, it's pissing me off. It will randomly lose connection with the base that it's less than a foot away from and immediately begin to reconnect, but with a 2 second delay of no controls. This will happen every 10 seconds. Often, it loses connection all together, and I have to fiddle with the batteries in the back to get it to start up and get the lights on again. I can't put the back cover on anymore, as it puts the batteries in a spot where it can't read it, for some reason. The loss of connections sometimes seem to be brought about by hitting a button (often "C", the swing button in MVP), but this may just be a coincidence.

Any tricks to get this thing to start working better? I don't have the box or receipt with me at school, so RMAing would be a problem most likely.

Thanks for the help.

(P.S. Yes, I've tried changing the batteries... I've got brand new ones in there now.)

I'm pretty sure it's a battery-related thing, though, since I have to shift them around to get it to start up again. Plus, I think Staples and Logitech both require receipts and original packaging.

Tried cleaning the connectors... helped but still can't put the cover on and still lost connection and immediately regained it (with 2 second outage) every few minutes...
