I just installed the Itouch wireless keyboard and the wireless optical mouse. I had been using a generic keyboard and a older ps2 logitech 4 button mouse. I installed both devices at the same time with the newest drivers from logitech as of last week.

Problem I am having is that sometimes the system detects the correct mouse and sometimes it detects it as a 3 button wireless logitech mouse. And when it gets it wrong the buttons no longer work like they are suppose to and the acceleration is extreme even on the lowest setting.

I can't figure out why it picks one over the other. It switchs between the two mouse devices randomly on boot, it seems.

I've tried removing the mouse registery entry's according to logitech's web site and reinstalled the mouse software. I tried disabling the legacy USB support in the bios. I'm using the abit BH6 motherboard with newest bios.

Thanks in advance.

Try going into safe mode & see how many mice you have listed in device manager,if you have the old one still listed remove it.

I think I know your problem, cuz I had the same issue. You can't use this mouse in a USB hub, try plugging it in direct into the computer.

Well try uninstalling all the old drivers and then re-start your comp. Then instal the new ones given to you and then upgrade them with the newest that way... or do what Mem and thewatcher said...

Hope this helps,

Albert.
