Hi guys,

I got a logitech wireless kb/mouse

they work great.. for awhile.. every once in awhile the mouse will just die.. i have no idea what is causing this.. or how to fix it..

i tried changing the batteries.. taking the usb out then back in.. last time i just returned it for a new one... (thought that it was just that one mouse) but apparently this might be something that happens to alot of ppl...
also i have tried the connect buttons also.. no go....

anyone know what is up?

thanks

what do you mean by it dies? Have you tried manually moving the ball and still no response? My mouse does not work on a mouse pad every once in a while but works on my jeans!

when it dies it just dies... not movement comes from it at all...
even manually moving the ball or the insides

Yo,
I use the Logitech Wireless KB and Wireless Optical Mouse, no problems.

Are you using the USB ports directly on the motherboard or from USB ports on a PCI card?

VTBigBear, since no one suggested it yeat, try moving the wireless receiver around, placement of the receiver can sometimes be the cause of numerous problems w/ wireless k/b's & mice. Hope this helps 🙂

I used a Logitech wireless for several months and then upgraded to Logitech's wireless optical. No problems with either one.

Zim Hosein, thanks ill have to try that...

right now the reciever is right in the middle of my 21" monitor and a klipsch speaker.

but the thing is .. my keyboard works fine.... and they are both using the same reciever...

Thanks for the help so far.. more suggestions would be welcome~~

Yo,
VTBigBear, now the same problem is happening to me, exactly. The keyboard works, the mouse dies.

What has changed is that I upgraded to a new CPU, new motherboard, new RAM, and new soundcard: XP2100+, A7V333, Corsair PC2700XMS, Soundblaster Audigy MP3+.

Am thinking of just switching back to my old optical wired Logitech mouse. Have tried upgrading to the newest Logitech Mouseware 9.60 drivers, but the mouse still conks out.

UPDATE
When the mouse dies, unplugging the USB transmitter and replugging brought back mouse funcionality.
