Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse combo compatibility problem.

I got two Logitech keyboard & mouse combo set, one old, one new bought.

Just found that whenever I plugin the receiver into Gigabyte motherboards (2 of them), the keyboard mouse worked only worked in BIOS and booted O.S. but not in between.

Every time I enter a linux distro, be it firewall setup, multiboot meneu selection, the keyboard/mouse suddenly won't respond to any keystroke or mouse click. Tried at least 5 times on these machine and got same symptom every time. USB legacy support enabled.

Other PC seems OK.

Anyone has same issue?
 
i have no idea, and would recommend copying this question in the linux subforums.

so .. are you saying that the mouse does not work while booting, between the moment of time you complete the bios load, and the OS launching?
that's just likely to the OS not loading the "better, faster" wireless protocol drivers, while teh BIOS likely uses a simpler, more basic wireless protocol.

just guessing.
 
It happens on my HDD/SSD that has multiple Windows installations as well.

When system boots up and get into Windows system selection menu (Let's say Windows 10, Windows 8 & Windows 7 on 3 partitions) , Logitech keyboard then won't have any response to any keystroke, only after the system boots into the default system after 30 secs.
 
I've never found Logitech's Unifying receiver based stuff to be terribly reliable outside a completely booted OS. If I need BIOS access, I generally have to grab a wired device.
 
Bought the MK235 combo on sale for $15 at Staples and I liked the slim profile.

Well, will return it and buy a wired one.
 
well guys, you have learned something new today: Logitech makes the best hardware, and the worst driver.
 
Just checked the model, it's not Unifying technology, just plain 2.4G wireless.

But whether it's Logitech's Unifying technology, there shouldn't be any driver required under any environment.

Driver/software only adds functionality to the product. Without driver, keyboard/mouse should just function by itself.
