Uhmm, having some MAJOR problems with my Logitech Wingman interceptor joystick...
The device is clearly installed and its status is read as "OK" in the control panel. But when trying to calibrate the joystick I get an error message saying that the device cannot be detected! I also tried running a few games but all ran REALLY sluggish (FIFA 2003, GTA3, MAFIA) when the joystick was connected to the gameport. The games seemed to detect the device as characters responded to movements of the joystick, but like I said, unacceptably slow...
Now here's what I've tried already:
1. Downloaded and installed new drivers for my Soundblaster LIVE card (including new gameport driver)
2. Ran system-file check
3. Checked all connections (duh!)
4. Installed new drivers for the joystick
5. Installed DirectX 9.0
6. Cleared the registry of any previous calibrations
7. Installed Service pack 1 for WIN XP
But nothing's helped so far!!!!!!!???????
Could it be my joystick is damaged in some way?
My system specs:
AMD ATHLON XP 1800+
256MB RAM
ASUS A7V333 Motherboard
Soundblaster LIVE sound card
WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL (SP1 installed)
