I got a Logitech Wingman Force 3D Force Feedback Joystick from a friend. The usb connection is fine but the it does not have the AC adapter. Now I'm wondering if the AC adapter is necessary?

I hooked it up with Nascar 2003 and Microsoft Flight Simulation 2004 and they seem to be working okay. But then there is a place to plug-in the AC adapter. I was wondering if this comes with the adapter? Does it need it or can it draw power from the USB?

Also, anybody who has the adapter .. can you please tell me to the specifications so that I can buy a generic one?

Thanks!

The AC adaptor powers the force feedback functions. The joystick will still work without the AC adaptor, but the force feedback won't.

Thank you so much stevty2889! By force feedback .. you mean the mechanical vibrations that one can feel during the game?

Also can anybody tell the specs of the AC adapter .. have googled endlessly .. but no mention of the specs!!

Yeah, the force feedback is the vibration. Not sure of the specs of the adaptor though, it might say on the bottom of the joystick near the connector for the adaptor, or a label somewhere.

Thanks for all your inputs .. it was really helpful!

I have that stick. Havent used it years! Used it mainly for flight sims and racing games but not I got used to flying and driving with my gamepad that I dont think I can go back to a bigass joystick again!
