Logitech wheel skips

my logitech optical mouse wheel skips when i scroll,
every other turn i make with the mouse scroll, it scrolls twice for each turn
and sometimes it wont scroll, then the next turn it will scroll 2 or 3 times...
if i delete the mouse software and re-install, the problem goes away for a while
has anyone else had this problem?
i am running win2k

i have the same problem with XP Home.... it will not scroll for the first two times i try, then the third time i try, it scrolls for all 3 times

I had the same problem with all three of my computers. I bought 3 logitech optical mice and installed them on 2 win 98 boxes and an XP pro box. The scrolling was choppy and sometimes it didnt move at all.

I installed the MS optical wheel mouse driver that I downloaded from microsoft's website and used it instead of the crappy logitech driver and it was awesome. Scrolled smooth as butter.

Try this: go to Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance Options and enable "Optimize performance for background services". I did this and the wheel mouse works great!

well ... i used to have this problem in w2k and i fixed it by killing the logitech mouseware drivers ...

But if the performance background did the trick...great...but won't it affect your programs?

I was wondering about performance of the other programs too, but I've heard no complaints from the other people using the XP machine with the mouse in question (it's not my computer). I guess it's still quick enough. There may be a performance difference, but it may not be noticeable.

Wow, it fixed my scrolling problem too!

Now, has is anyone experiencing "Warning: Page has Expired" when you go back from a page on some internet sites like Fat Wallet or Hotmail?
