I bought a Logitech C510 webcam lately and bought a 15' Monoprice USB extension cable a while ago.
Today I tried to use the webcam with the extension cable and Windows 7 can't detect the device. I thought the cable is bad.
I then tried other USB devices that I have.
So I tried MS mouse, ASUS 802.11n WiFi USB adapter, Kingston USB card reader, USB serial adapter, IOGear USB bluetooth, ASIX USB ethernet adapter, and even ASUS external USB DVD-Writer, and all devices were recognized and drivers were all installed.
Except this Logitech C510 webcam.
Any idea why this Logitech C510 is different? Is the signal or power too low? Then why all other devices work? It just can't be detected when it was plugged in the extension cable. Weird.
