Logitech VX Revolution Mouse Problem

I just got this mouse for my laptop. Everything works great except that I don't see the battery meter indicator that is present on all the pictures of this mouse I can find on the internet. I google'd a bit about it but no one seems to have had this problem. so is this a manufacture defect that lights are out or there're some mice of this model Logitech makes without lights that I'm not aware of?
